The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has received a supervision request letter from the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) concerning the handling of a corruption case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah.

KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto stated that the request for supervision was sent by the Acting Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Rudi Margono. “Indeed, the KPK has received a supervision request letter. The letter was made by the Acting Jampidsus for supervision to be carried out,” Setyo said to reporters on Friday.

He explained that the process is currently at the initial coordination stage. Should it proceed, the supervision will involve personnel from the KPK’s Deputy for Coordination and Supervision. “For now, we are only conducting coordination. The nature of it is still semi-supervision. So, we are not yet involved in the examination process,” he clarified.

Setyo emphasised that the KPK’s role is currently limited and does not extend to participating in the investigative examinations. He noted that the authority to conduct examinations remains entirely with the investigators who have received a warrant from the Attorney General or the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes. “It must be limited; we are not involved in the examination. For now, we are only conducting coordination that is semi-supervisory in nature,” he concluded.
