KPK Re-examines Former MPR Secretary General Ma'ruf Cahyono in Graft Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has rescheduled the examination of former People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Secretary General Ma’ruf Cahyono for Thursday, 9 July 2026. Ma’ruf is being questioned as a suspect in an alleged gratuity case linked to procurement at the MPR.

KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the scheduling, stating that investigators had arranged the session for the former MPR Secretary General. This examination is a follow-up to a previous session held on Thursday, 26 June 2026.

Following his earlier questioning, Ma’ruf denied any involvement in the case, including receiving any illicit funds. He also stated that there were no questions regarding an alleged flow of Rp17 billion to him in connection with the procurement gratuity.

The KPK officially named Ma’ruf as a suspect on Thursday, 3 July 2026. Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu explained that the case pertains to gratuities related to a logistics delivery project for the MPR, involving the distribution of products such as books to various regions. The KPK alleges that Ma’ruf received Rp17 billion in connection with the case.
