KPK Re-examines Former MPR Secretary General Ma'ruf Cahyono

The examination took place at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta, with MRC, the former Secretary General of the MPR RI, as the examinee.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again examined former Secretary General of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) Ma’ruf Cahyono as a suspect in an investigation into alleged gratuities related to goods and services procurement within the MPR RI Secretariat General.

“The examination took place at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta, involving MRC as the former Secretary General of the MPR RI,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Thursday.

According to KPK records, Ma’ruf Cahyono answered the investigators’ summons by arriving at the Red and White Building at around 09.45 Western Indonesia Time (WIB). This was the second examination, following his previous questioning on 25 June 2026.

On 23 June 2025, the KPK began summoning witnesses and announced that a state official had been named a suspect. At the time, the anti-corruption body stated that the value of the gratuities allegedly received amounted to approximately Rp17 billion.

Subsequently, on 3 July 2025, the KPK revealed that the suspect in the case was Ma’ruf Cahyono, the former Secretary General of the MPR RI.

After examining a number of witnesses, including a private individual on 7 July 2026, investigators suspect that Ma’ruf demanded payment of around 10 per cent of the value of goods and services procurement project packages within the MPR RI Secretariat General.
