KPK Re-examines Former MPR Secretary General Ma'ruf Cahyono

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has re-examined former Secretary General of the MPR RI, Ma’ruf Cahyono, as a suspect in an investigation into alleged gratuities related to the procurement of goods and services within the MPR Secretariat General. The examination took place at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed to journalists on Thursday that the questioning was for the suspect, identified as MRC, the former MPR Secretary General. According to KPK records, Ma’ruf Cahyono complied with the investigators’ summons and arrived at the Merah Putih Building around 09.45 WIB. This marks his second examination following a previous session on 25 June 2026. The KPK began summoning witnesses and announced the naming of a state official as a suspect on 23 June 2025, stating that the alleged gratuities received amounted to approximately Rp17 billion. The suspect was later identified on 3 July 2025 as Ma’ruf Cahyono. After examining several witnesses, including a private sector party on 7 July 2026, investigators suspect that Cahyono requested a 10 per cent fee from the value of goods and services procurement packages within the MPR Secretariat General.
