Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized resignation letters in the name of several heads of regional government agencies (OPD) within the Tulungagung Regency administration, East Java, during raids on three locations on Thursday.

The three locations were the regent’s official residence, the private home of the inactive Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo, and the home of Dwi Yoga Ambal, who is Gatut Sunu’s aide.

“During the raids, among other things, several documents were found. One of them was a statement of resignation from other OPD heads that was made without a date,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday.

According to Budi, the letter was allegedly used by Gatut Sunu as a tool to pressure OPD heads in Tulungagung to comply with all his orders.

“We will continue to update on the developments and results of the raids,” he said.

Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) in Tulungagung, East Java, on Friday (10/4).

The KPK arrested 18 people in that OTT, including Gatut Sunu Wibowo and his younger brother, who is also a member of the Tulungagung Regency DPRD, Jatmiko Dwijo Saputro.

A day later, on 11 April 2026, the KPK brought Gatut Sunu Wibowo and his brother, along with 11 others, to Jakarta for intensive examination.

On the same date, the KPK announced Gatut Sunu Wibowo (GSW) and Dwi Yoga Ambal (YOG), his aide, as suspects in the alleged extortion and other receipts case within the Tulungagung Regency Government for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

The KPK suspects Gatut Sunu of extorting regional apparatus in the Tulungagung Regency Government using the modus operandi of resignation statements from positions and civil servant status.

The letters had already been signed and stamped with official seals but had not been dated.

Through this modus operandi, the KPK suspects Gatut Sunu obtained up to Rp2.7 billion from a target of Rp5 billion from 16 heads of regional government agencies (OPD) within the Tulungagung Regency Government.
