KPK Raids Rooms at Pekalongan Regency Secretariat Building
Following an Operation Tangkap Tangan (OTT), the investigation team from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted searches in several rooms of the Pekalongan Regency Regional Secretariat Building (Setda) in Central Java. The searches targeted multiple rooms, including the Regent’s office and the Secretary’s room. At least five KPK vehicles were parked in the Setda precinct on Friday (6 March 2026) as investigators entered the building and dispersed to various rooms. Among the rooms searched were the Regent’s office, the Regent’s meeting room, the Sekda’s office, and the General Affairs room, with other rooms on the second floor prepared for further examinations. When contacted by several journalists, Pekalongan Regency Sekda M. Yulian Akbar confirmed that KPK investigators were conducting searches within the Setda complex. ‘This afternoon the KPK was performing searches. Four rooms were sealed — the Regent’s room, the Sekda’s room, the guest reception, and the General Affairs room. Investigators are still unsealing and examining inside those rooms,’ he said. Yulian Akbar said he did not know the exact number of investigators and that, so far, the activity had been restricted to the Setda building. ‘I do not know about that,’ he added. He also said he had not been able to return to his office for two days and had moved to another room for the time being. ‘If I move to the Prokom Room, I will continue to work while assisting the KPK investigators,’ he said. Several journalists waiting outside the main entrance were not allowed into the area during the operation.
