Tulungagung, East Java (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) gathered 34 heads of regional government agencies (OPD) within the Tulungagung Regency Government, East Java, while conducting a search at the PUPR-BPKAD office on Friday. This step forms part of the handling of a suspected corruption case following the sting operation (OTT) that ensnared the inactive Regent of Tulungagung, Gatut Sunu Wibowo. Based on observations, the KPK investigative team began arriving at the regency government office complex in the morning, around 09:00 WIB. At the same time, KPK also assembled the 34 OPD heads in the Praja Mukti Room to attend a socialisation and guidance activity. Head of the Tulungagung Youth and Sports Office, Ahmad Mugiyono, stated that the OPD heads received an invitation from KPK to attend the event. “We were invited to follow the socialisation regarding KPK’s activities in Tulungagung,” he said. In addition, the OPD heads were called one by one to receive direct instructions from the KPK team. “Essentially, we were asked to improve governance patterns going forward to make them better and to act cooperatively,” Ahmad remarked. KPK also reminded all officials to be prepared to fulfil summons if needed in the ongoing investigation process.
