KPK Raids Pemalang Regent's Office

The Corruption Eradification Commission (KPK) raided the office and official residence of the Regent of Pemalang, Anom Widiyantoro, on Friday (31/7), one day after he was named a suspect in an alleged extortion and corruption case. The search of the Regent’s office was conducted to locate and secure evidence related to the case.

The KPK team also searched the residence of Mohamad Haris, also known as Gus Haris, a known confidant of the Pemalang Regent. Haris’s residence is located on Jalan Belimbing, Moga District, Pemalang Regency, Central Java.

After coordinating with guest service officers at the entrance of the Pemalang Regency Government pavilion, investigators entered the Regent’s official residence to carry out the search. Several hours later, four KPK vehicles were seen entering the government pavilion complex. In the courtyard of Haris’s residence, three luxury motorcycles, including a Harley-Davidson and a Honda CRF, were observed having been sealed by the KPK.

The search process was conducted under tight security from the police. In this case, the KPK has named four suspects, including the Regent of Pemalang, Anom Widiyantoro, his associate Mohamad Haris, and two other individuals.
