KPK Raids House in West Lombok for 9 Hours, Seizes Documents and Mobile Phones
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) removed three suitcases containing documents from a house in the Mavilla Rengganis housing complex, Bajur Village, Labuapi District, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The search, which lasted approximately nine hours, was conducted in connection with the arrest of inactive West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini (LAZ).
According to monitoring at the scene, the KPK team concluded the search of the pale green house at around 19.00 WITA, having begun at approximately 10.40 WITA. The search was witnessed by the local neighbourhood association head, Firmansyah. “There were items taken. There were documents that I saw,” Firmansyah stated on Friday (24/7/2026).
In addition to documents, the KPK reportedly seized a mobile phone during the search. According to Firmansyah, the anti-corruption agency confiscated the phone from an individual believed to be a resident of the house. “There were documents, and also a mobile phone belonging to someone who seems to work here. That is all I saw, nothing else,” he mentioned.
The house raided by the KPK team appeared to function as a boarding house, containing four rooms. Firmansyah noted that the KPK only searched two of the four rooms. When asked whether the property was actually used as a company or a boarding house, Firmansyah was also uncertain. “As far as we know, this is a boarding house. Regarding it being a company, I also do not know about the existence of a company here,” he said.
Separately, KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed that the search conducted by the KPK team was related to the case ensnaring LAZ. “Yes, that is correct,” Budi replied via a WhatsApp message.
Previously, KPK investigators had searched the West Lombok Regent’s Office since Thursday (23/7), subsequently sealing two private cars at the regent’s official residence, and searching two private houses belonging to LAZ in Gunungsari District.
The KPK had earlier conducted a sting operation against LAZ at his official residence on Monday (20/7). A total of 19 people were detained during the operation. However, KPK investigators ultimately named three suspects: LAZ, President Director of PT Air Minum Giri Menang (PT AMGM) Sudirman, and President Director of PT Meconel Sistim Instrument (PT MSI) Alvonsus Gani.
The KPK suspects LAZ of receiving bribes related to a number of projects in West Lombok and of engaging in a conflict of interest in the procurement of goods and services. In the case’s construction, LAZ allegedly instructed the Head of West Lombok’s Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas Agency, Lalu Ratnawi, to assist Sudirman in securing government projects.
Sudirman then allegedly used CV Dyas Karya Konstruksi (DKK) as a “pool bucket” for projects by borrowing the names of several companies so that CV DKK would not be recorded as the winner. The KPK suspects that tender requirements were manipulated so that companies used by Sudirman would win projects worth IDR 17.9 billion through both tenders and direct appointments.
