KPK Raids Home of Pati Public Works Chief, Removes 3 Suitcases as Evidence in Corruption Investigation
Following a 2.5-hour raid at the private residence of Riyoso, former Acting Regional Secretary and Head of the Public Works Department (DPU) in Pati, KPK investigators removed three suitcases believed to contain evidence.
According to Media Indonesia’s monitoring on Friday 27 February, after arriving and beginning the raid at Riyoso’s residence in Ngarus Village, Pati District at 14:00 WIB, KPK investigators emerged from the house at 16:32 WIB carrying three large suitcases. The red, green and black suitcases, allegedly containing evidence seized from the former Acting Regional Secretary’s residence, were loaded into three vehicles parked in the yard of the white-painted house, which also serves as a notary office.
“When the raid was conducted, Pak Riyoso was not at home; the information is that he was on official duties elsewhere, although usually he is at home daily with his wife and family,” stated Harto, an official from Ngarus Village, on Friday afternoon.
KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo stated that the raid at the private residence of the official in Pati Regency yielded three suitcases containing evidence—specifically documents and electronic devices—used to support the investigation into the corruption case involving Pati Regent (non-active) Sudewo.
Although not disclosing detailed information about the specific items seized during the raid at the residence of the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Department (DPUTR) in Pati Regency, the evidence is believed to be related to extortion and alleged project rigging stemming from the investigation into the Pati Regent (non-active) Sudewo case.
Throughout the raid at Riyoso’s residence, KPK investigators were closely escorted by uniformed and fully armed police officers to ensure the process proceeded safely and smoothly. Riyoso is considered a key figure due to his strategic position and central role in Sudewo’s administration.
