KPK Raids Home of Former Pati Acting Regional Secretary in Connection with Regent Sudewo Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has raided the residence of Riyoso, former Acting Regional Secretary (Pj Sekda) of Pati Regency, in connection with an alleged corruption and extortion case involving non-active Regent Sudewo.

“In the continuation of the investigation into alleged corruption related to extortion in the appointment of village officials in Pati Regency, today Friday (27 February), investigators raided the residence of RYS, the former Acting Regional Secretary of Pati Regency,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Friday afternoon.

During the raid, KPK investigators secured several pieces of evidence including documents and electronic devices.

In this case, the KPK has designated Sudewo and three others as suspects in the alleged extortion case. The suspects in question are Abdul Suyono, Head of Karangrowo Village, Jakenan Sub-district; Sumarjiono, Head of Arumanis Village, Jaken Sub-district; and Karjan, Head of Sukorukun Village, Jaken Sub-district.

They have been detained at the KPK State Detention Facility, charged under Article 12 letter e of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code.

The case was uncovered by the KPK through a Sudden Arrest Operation (OTT) conducted some time ago, during which eight people including Sudewo were arrested. The operation also resulted in the seizure of approximately 2.6 billion rupiah.

The KPK discovered alleged extortion practices across several sub-districts in Pati. Budi was unable to provide detailed information at this time.

Pati Regency comprises a total of 21 sub-districts, 401 villages, and 5 urban villages. There are currently an estimated 601 vacant village official positions.
