JAKARTA — Investigators from Indonesia’s Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) conducted raids on several offices within the Cilacap Regency Government in connection with an alleged extortion case within the local administration on Monday, 16 March 2026.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the raided locations included the Regent’s office, the Regional Secretary’s office (Sekda), as well as several assistant offices within the Cilacap Regency Government.

“Today the investigators conducted a series of raids, including at the Official Residence and the Regent’s office, the Regional Secretary’s office, as well as the offices of Assistant I, II, and III,” said Budi on Tuesday.

Among the items seized were mobile phones containing messages related to the collection of funds from the heads of Regional Work Units (SKPD) to their respective department heads, according to Budi. “The investigators will naturally extract and analyse every piece of evidence secured during these raids,” Budi added.

Previously, the KPK had named Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman as a suspect in an alleged extortion case involving the collection of Eid holiday allowances (THR) for Idul Fitri 2026 on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

In addition to Syamsul, the KPK also named Cilacap Regional Secretary Sadmoko Danardono as a suspect.

Both men were arrested during a sting operation (OTT) on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Syamsul is alleged to have ordered subordinates to collect THR funds from numerous regional work units with a target collection of 750 million rupiah. By the time of the sting operation, 610 million rupiah had been collected.

The cash was seized from the residence of Ferry Adhi Dharma, who serves as Assistant II of Cilacap Regency and is suspected of being the person ordered by Syamsul to collect funds from the regional work units.

Following their designation as suspects, both Syamsul and Sadmoko were immediately detained at the KPK detention facility for an initial detention period of 20 days.

The suspects are charged with violations of Article 12 clause e and/or Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Offences as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001, in conjunction with Article 20 clause c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
