KPK Raids 8 Locations Related to Banjarmasin Tax Office Case, Seizes Documents
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted searches at several locations related to an alleged corruption case involving tax restitution claims at the Banjarmasin Medium Tax Office (KPP Madya) between 26 and 28 August 2026.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the searches were carried out at private residences and offices located within the Banjarmasin and Banjarbaru areas. “The searches were conducted at eight locations, including both houses and offices owned by private parties, in the Banjarmasin and Banjarbaru regions,” Budi said, as reported on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.
From these searches, Budi explained that investigators found evidence in the form of documents believed to be related to the case currently being uncovered by the KPK. This evidence has been secured for further in-depth investigation to ensure full transparency in the case involving the former Head of the Banjarmasin Medium Tax Office, Mulyono Purno Wijoyo (MLY).
“Investigators will next conduct a deep review and analysis to assess the relevance of each document to the construction of the case,” he revealed. “These findings will also be confirmed with parties deemed to have knowledge and the ability to explain the substance or connection to the case,” he added.
Budi also noted that the results of the searches are part of the investigators’ efforts to clarify the case entirely, ensuring that every fact and piece of evidence obtained has a clear and legally accountable connection. Furthermore, he remarked that the taxation sector holds a strategic position as one of the primary sources of state revenue. Consequently, corruption in this sector is not merely an issue of administrative malpractice, but has the potential to erode the revenue that should rightfully belong to the state to fund development and public services.
“The KPK will continue to delve into every piece of information and evidence obtained during the investigation process,” he concluded.
It is known that, in addition to corruption, the KPK is also targeting alleged Money Laundering (TPPU) in this case. In mid-August, the KPK conducted searches to seek evidence of alleged money laundering arising from the development of the Banjarmasin Medium Tax Office case.
