KPK Questions Robert Bonosusatya on Levies Collected from Mining Entrepreneurs

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) grilled businessman Robert Priantono Bonosusatya over the levies he collected from mining companies in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan.

The matter was probed by investigators during the examination of Robert Bonosusatya as a witness in the alleged gratification case involving former Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari (RW) at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Thursday (2/4/2026).

“In today’s examination, investigators delved into the witness’s knowledge regarding the collection fees carried out by Mr RB (Robert -ed) from mining companies, especially coal ones operating in Kutai Kartanegara or in the Kutai Kartanegara Regency area,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Thursday.

Budi stated that investigators probed the amount of levy money requested by Robert and the mechanism for providing the funds.

“This will continue to be delved into and traced, and of course, the calculations are still ongoing,” he said.

“Therefore, we are confident that RB will remain cooperative as in today’s examination,” he added.

Based on Kompas.com records, KPK had previously searched Robert Bonosusatya’s home in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, in connection with the corruption case ensnaring former Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari (RW).

The search was conducted on 14-15 May 2025, from 20:00 WIB until it ended at 01:00 WIB.

From the search, KPK seized billions of rupiah in various foreign currencies, documents, and electronic evidence.

In addition to the house, KPK also searched six vehicles at the residence.

“An amount of money in rupiah totalling Rp788,452,000, in SGD (Singapore Dollars) amounting to 29,100, in USD amounting to USD 41,300, and in Pounds Sterling amounting to 1,045 Pounds Sterling,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Friday (16/5/2025).

Budi said that investigators also seized 26 documents and six electronic evidence items in the search.

“The documents, electronic evidence, and money will be further probed by KPK,” he stated.
