KPK Questions Muhadjir to Compare 2022 Hajj Quota Allocation
The KPK is examining Muhadjir in relation to the Hajj quota corruption case yesterday. After the examination, Muhadjir said he was asked by investigators about his time serving as interim Minister of Religious Affairs.
“Only that (the matter of the examination) really, I was interim minister for 20 days. 30 June to 19 July,” he said, adding that there were not many questions and that everything was safe.
“Safe, safe, safe,” he added.
In the Hajj quota corruption case, the KPK has named four suspects:
Former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (YCQ)
Former Special Staff Yaqut, Ishfah Abidal Azis alias Gus Alex (IAA)
Operational Director of PT Makassar Toraja (Maktour) Ismail Adham (ISM)
Chairman of the Kesthuri Association Asrul Azis Taba (ASR).
The KPK suspects Ismail and Asrul provided money to Yaqut as the former Minister. The payments were made through an intermediary, namely Yaqut’s former special staff, Gus Alex.
Ismail is suspected of giving Gus Alex USD 30,000. He also, according to the source Asep, handed USD 5,000 to the former Director General of PHU at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in 2024, Hilman Latief (HL).
The KPK says the state loss in this case reached Rp 622 billion. The amount is the result of calculations by the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK). (kuf/dwr)
