The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is continuing to develop its investigation into alleged corruption within the Muara Enim Regency Government in South Sumatra. In the latest development, KPK investigators questioned the suspended Regent of Muara Enim, Edison, as well as a marketing employee of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi, Cory Erin Hardi, on Wednesday evening, 10 June 2026. The questioning took place after the anti-corruption body conducted a follow-up sting operation (OTT) that netted several civil servants (ASN) from the national audit board (BPK).

“Correct, to undergo questioning in relation to the sting operation,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters in Jakarta on Thursday, 11 June 2026. According to Budi, the questioning of the two suspects is necessary to deepen the investigation into the chain of events related to the alleged manipulation or engineering of BPK audit results on the Muara Enim Regency Government.

The case began with a silent operation conducted by the KPK from 7 to 8 June 2026. During this activity, the investigative team secured 10 individuals. Five people were arrested in the Jakarta area, while the other five were detained in South Sumatra. This sting operation was recorded as the 12th OTT carried out by the KPK throughout 2026. Among the 10 individuals detained at the time, Muara Enim Regent Edison was one of those brought in for further questioning.

A day later, on 9 June 2026, the KPK announced the naming of four individuals as suspects in a case of alleged bribery related to the procurement of goods and services and other receipts within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The four suspects named were Edison; the Secretary of the Education and Culture Office of Muara Enim Regency, Abi Nurwardani; marketing employee of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi, Cory Erin Hardi; and Adi Triyadi, who is known to be Edison’s nephew.

The investigation subsequently developed. On 10 June 2026, the KPK conducted another follow-up sting operation targeting five ASN within the BPK RI. This latest operation became the 13th OTT carried out by the KPK during 2026 and is currently being deeply investigated for its connection to the previous case that ensnared the suspended Muara Enim Regent and several other parties. The KPK has confirmed that the investigation process is ongoing to comprehensively uncover the alleged corrupt practices involving multiple parties in this case.
