The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is continuing to investigate the assets of suspects in a corruption case related to land dispute execution at Depok District Court. One measure taken is the questioning of Judge Evri Dayanti today. Evri was examined at Bogor District Court. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said in a written statement on Tuesday (26 May): “Investigating the suspects’ assets.” The KPK also scheduled questioning of three other judges today: Dwi Elyarahma, Ultry Meiliyeni, and Erlinawati. However, Dwi was unable to attend due to other commitments. For the remaining two witnesses, the KPK is investigating the review process regarding PT Karabha Digdaya’s execution request and the land execution procedures. The KPK is handling the legal case against former Depok District Court Chief Judge I Wayan Eka Mariarta and his deputy Bambang Setyawan over allegations of accepting an Rp850 million bribe from PT Karabha Digdaya, a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Finance. The bribe is alleged to be a fee for expediting the execution of a 6,500 square metre land dispute in Tapos District, Depok, West Java. In addition to Wayan and Bambang, the KPK has also named three others as suspects in the bribery case: Yohansyah Maruanaya (YOH), Depok District Court bailiff; Trisnadi Yulrisman (TRI), CEO of PT Karabha Digdaya; and Berliana Tri Kusuma (BER), Head of Corporate Legal at PT Karabha Digdaya. Bambang is also charged with gratification under Article 12B of the Anti-Corruption Law (UU Tipikor). The case was uncovered by the anti-corruption agency through a sting operation in early February. During the ongoing investigation, the KPK has interviewed numerous witnesses and conducted searches and seizures of evidence. Some suspects have challenged the case legally by filing a pre-trial at South Jakarta District Court.
