KPK Questions Former MPR Secretary General Ma'ruf Cahyono as Suspect
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has questioned former MPR RI Secretary General Ma’ruf Cahyono as a suspect in an alleged gratification case linked to the procurement of goods and services within the MPR RI Secretariat General. “Today’s examination is in his capacity as a suspect in the alleged gratification related to the procurement of goods and services at the MPR RI Secretariat General,” KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Thursday. Budi stated that Ma’ruf Cahyono had arrived at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta and was immediately questioned by investigators. “The individual concerned arrived around 09.30 WIB and is currently undergoing questioning by investigators,” he said. The KPK had previously announced on 20 June 2025 that it was investigating a gratification case involving procurement at the MPR RI Secretariat General. On the same date, the KPK revealed it had named a state official as a suspect in the case. The anti-graft body also stated that the suspect is believed to have received approximately Rp17 billion.
