Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned Wawan Sunarjo, Director of the Ministry of Finance’s Natural Resources and Separated State Assets Non-Tax Revenue Department, regarding PNBP in the mining sector.

“Investigators are probing the witness’s knowledge on PNBP related to jetty or dock usage, and hauling (mining material transportation),” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Monday.

Budi made the statement after Wawan Sunarjo appeared before the KPK on Monday morning at 9:32 AM WIB as a witness in the investigation into alleged gratification related to coal production metrics in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan.

Previously, on 28 September 2017, the KPK named Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari, PT Sawit Golden Prima President Director Hery Susanto Gun, and PT Media Bangun Bersama Commissioner Khairudin as suspects in a gratification case in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan.

Widyasari is suspected of receiving a Rp6 billion bribe related to granting a location permit for a palm oil plantation in Kupang Baru Village, Muara Kaman Subdistrict, to PT Sawit Golden Prima.

On 16 January 2018, the KPK named Widyasari and Khairudin as suspects in a money laundering case.

On 6 June 2024, the KPK disclosed the seizure of 91 vehicles, various economic-value items, five plots of land totaling thousands of square metres, and 30 luxury watches from multiple brands during the investigation.

On 19 February 2025, the KPK revealed Widyasari is also suspected of receiving millions of US dollars related to coal mining, up to approximately $5 per metric ton of coal.

A year later, on 19 February 2026, the KPK announced three corporations as suspects in the alleged gratification case related to coal production metrics in Kutai Kartanegara. They are PT Sinar Kumala Naga (SKN), PT Alamjaya Barapratama (ABP), and PT Bara Kumala Sakti (BKS).
