KPK Questions Dito Ariotedjo in Hajj Quota Corruption Case

Former Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo has been summoned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in connection with the investigation into a corruption case involving hajj quotas at the Ministry of Religious Affairs for the 2023-2024 period. Dito was questioned on a number of matters during the examination. He was summoned to the KPK’s Merah Putih building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6/2026) and examined as a witness in the hajj quota case. Dito was questioned regarding two new suspects from the private sector in this case. “This was an examination for the new investigation warrant. Previously, I came here for the warrant concerning the first suspects, Gus Yaqut and Gus Alex. This second one involves private parties. I provided additional information,” Dito said after the examination at the KPK building. He left the examination room at around 2:08 PM Western Indonesia Time, having arrived and begun questioning at 10:00 AM. Dito stated that the material of today’s examination was not significantly different from his previous questioning on 23 January. He was again questioned about the mechanism for granting additional hajj quotas from the Saudi Arabian government to Indonesia. “It was more about the fact that I was present at a meeting in Saudi Arabia with MBS. Coincidentally, my father-in-law is also associated with the association. So the questioning dug more into that,” Dito said. The KPK has named four suspects in this case. They are former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, his former special staff member Ishfah Abidal Azis, also known as Gus Alex, the Operational Director of PT Makassar Toraja (Maktour) Ismail Adham, and the Chairman of the Kesthuri Association Asrul Azis Taba.
