KPK Pursues Money Trail in PT Blueray Cargo Import Corruption Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating alleged receipt of money by individuals within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance related to the importation of goods by PT Blueray Cargo. The investigation was advanced by examining two civil servants from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, identified by the initials HDC and HLD, as witnesses in Jakarta on Monday.
“Both witnesses were present. Investigators are exploring the witnesses’ knowledge regarding alleged receipt of money by individuals within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise related to the importation of goods by PT BR (Blueray Cargo),” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Monday (24/8).
The case originated from a KPK sting operation within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise on 4 February 2026 concerning alleged corruption in goods importation activities.
The KPK subsequently named six people as initial suspects: Rizal, who previously served as Director of Enforcement and Investigation at Customs and Excise; Sisprian Subiaksono, Head of the Sub-Directorate of Intelligence for Enforcement and Investigation at Customs and Excise; and Orlando Hamonangan, Head of the Customs and Excise Intelligence Section.
The other three suspects were from Blueray Cargo: Blueray Cargo owner John Field, Blueray Cargo Import Documentation Team Leader Andri, and Blueray Cargo Operational Manager Dedy Kurniawan. The cases against John Field, Andri, and Dedy proceeded to trial, and all three have been sentenced.
Meanwhile, the cases against Rizal, Sisprian, and Orlando have also reached the trial stage. In that case, the three are charged with accepting bribes totalling approximately Rp61.7 billion related to handling Blueray Cargo’s goods importation.
On 26 February 2026, the KPK named Budiman Bayu Prasojo, Head of the Customs Intelligence Section at the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation at Customs and Excise, as a suspect. The KPK subsequently expanded the investigation by issuing two investigation warrants on 21 July 2026.
One of the investigation warrants named a new suspect whose identity had not yet been announced by the KPK at that time, while the other investigation warrant remained general in nature and had not yet named a suspect.
On 22 July 2026, the KPK confirmed that the new suspect in the expanded case was Gatot Heroe Hernanda, Head of the Kediri Customs and Excise Office.
In the expanded investigation, the KPK continues to examine alleged giving and receiving of money related to Blueray Cargo’s importation activities and parties within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.
