KPK Prosecutor Reveals Director-General of Customs Received SGD 213,000 from Blueray Cargo Boss
A public prosecutor from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) disclosed that the Director-General of Customs, Djaka Budhi Utama, is alleged to have received SGD 213,000 in a single payment in a case of bribery involving imported goods for PT Blueray Cargo. The testimony of the head of the Customs Intelligence Section I of the Directorate General of Customs, Orlando Hamonangan Sianipar, alias Ocoy, was at the Jakarta Corruption Court in Central Jakarta on the night of Wednesday, 20 May 2026. ‘We all heard Orlando’s testimony, which basically we probed regarding his position, how he communicated with John Field (owner of PT Blueray), and the receipt of money,’ Takdir told reporters. During the trial, the prosecutors uncovered a coding system used by PT Blueray Cargo to distribute bribery payments to officials within the Directorate General of Customs. The codes consisted of numbers and initials printed on the bribe envelopes. Takdir stressed that the SGD 213,000 received by the Director-General of Customs was a monthly share, not cumulative from several payments. In rupiah terms, the amount runs into billions. As of this report, neither the Directorate General of Customs nor the Ministry of Finance had issued an official statement regarding the appearance of Djaka Budhi Utama in the court records. The trial will continue with further witness testimony to probe the flow of bribe funds. (H-4)
