KPK probes suspected foreign currency exchange by Sisprian Subiaksono
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is probing the alleged exchange of foreign currencies by one of the suspects in a corruption case within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance, Sisprian Subiaksono (SIS).
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the probe is being conducted by the anti-graft body by questioning a money changer operator with the initials DS as a witness in the case on 21 May 2026.
‘The witness, as the owner of a money changer (foreign exchange business), was questioned by investigators in relation to the alleged foreign exchange transactions by the suspect SIS,’ Budi told journalists in Jakarta on Friday.
Earlier, on 4 February 2026, KPK conducted an arrest operation (OTT) within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.
In that operation, one of those detained was Rizal, Head of the Western Sumatra Regional Office of Customs.
The day after, KPK named six of the 17 people detained as suspects in a case of alleged bribery and gratification connected to the import of counterfeit goods within the Customs environment.
They are Rizal (RZL), as Director of Enforcement and Investigation of Customs for 2024–January 2026; Head of the Sub-Directorate for Intelligence on Enforcement and Investigation of Customs Sisprian Subiaksono (SIS); and Head of the Intelligence Section of Customs Orlando Hamonangan (ORL).
Additionally, KPK named the owner of Blueray Cargo John Field (JF), Head of the Blueray Cargo Import Documentation Team Andri (AND), and Blueray Cargo Operational Manager Dedy Kurniawan (DK) as suspects.
On 26 February 2026, KPK again named a new suspect, the Head of Intelligence Section of Customs’ Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation Budiman Bayu Prasojo (BBP).
Subsequently, on 27 February 2026, KPK disclosed that it is examining corruption in the handling of excise duties, among other developments, after the seizure of Rp5.19 billion in cash in five suitcases from a house in Ciputat, South Tangerang, which is suspected to be related to the case.
