KPK Probes South Sumatra Railway Track-Sleeper Procurement Contract
Jakarta (ANTARA) — Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is probing a contract for the procurement of railway track sleepers in South Sumatra province.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the agency examined the matter while questioning BAM, chief executive of PT Ragam Usaha Prima Mandiri, on 27 October 2026. BAM was questioned as a witness in an alleged bribery case involving railway construction and maintenance projects under the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) at the Ministry of Transportation, particularly in South Sumatra.
“As a vendor involved in projects at BTP Sumbagsel [the South Sumatra Railway Engineering Centre Class II, or BTP Class II Palembang], witness BAM was asked about the process for contracting the procurement of railway track sleepers,” Budi told journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Budi said the KPK was also examining projects at BTP Palembang won by PT Bina Sarana Dirgantara (BSD). Investigators therefore questioned YEA, BSD’s chief executive, as a witness on the same date as BAM.
“Investigators are examining witness YEA’s knowledge of the work awarded to PT BSD in procurement projects at BTP Sumbagsel,” he said.
