KPK Probes Purpose of Money Given to Fadia Arafiq

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is probing the purpose of a sum of money given to Fadia Arafiq (FAR) while she served as Regent of Pekalongan. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the anti-corruption agency conducted this investigation by examining a private individual with the initials RS as a witness on 11 May 2026. “Investigators are delving into the witness’s knowledge regarding allegations of money received by the suspect FAR. Investigators are also still tracing the intent and purpose of that money flow,” Budi told journalists in Jakarta on Tuesday. Previously, on 3 March 2026, KPK arrested Fadia Arafiq along with her aide and trusted associate in the Semarang area, Central Java. In addition, KPK secured 11 other individuals in Pekalongan, Central Java. This series of arrests was part of KPK’s seventh hand-catching operation (OTT) in 2026, coinciding with the month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah. On 4 March 2026, KPK named Fadia Arafiq as the sole suspect in a suspected corruption case related to the procurement of outsourcing services or temporary staff, and other procurements within the Pekalongan Regency Government for the 2023-2026 fiscal years. KPK suspects Fadia Arafiq of involvement in a conflict of interest by having her family’s company, PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya (RNB), win several procurements within the Pekalongan Regency Government. Fadia Arafiq and her family are said to have received Rp19 billion from those procurement contracts. The breakdown includes Rp13.7 billion purely enjoyed by the singer of the song Cik Cik Bum Bum and her family, Rp2.3 billion distributed to the Director of PT RNB who is also the aide named Rul Bayatun, and Rp3 billion from cash withdrawals that have not yet been distributed.
