Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is probing community groups (pokmas) connected to the Deputy Speaker of the East Java Provincial DPRD for the 2019-2024 period, who currently serves as a member of the East Java DPRD for 2024-2029, Achmad Iskandar (AI).

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the probe is being conducted by questioning eight witnesses on 18 May 2026, in connection with an investigation into alleged corruption in the management of grant funds for pokmas within the East Java provincial government for the 2019-2022 fiscal year.

‘The questioning of the witnesses relates to the pokmas of brother AI,’ Budi told journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

In addition, he said KPK asked the witnesses for information concerning the financial records of the parties involved in the implementation of the pokmas.

He noted that the eight witnesses comprise KMR, NSA and MAD as private individuals, HRP as the Chairman of Pokmas Barokahku, SRN as the Chairman of Pokmas Gajahmu, HTM as the Chairman of Pokmas Kancilmu, JAU as the Chairman of Pokmas Pertiwigus, and HND as the Chairman of Pokmas Bangun Karyalar.
