Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is examining the procurement of formic acid at the Ministry of Agriculture in 2021. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the examination was conducted on 6 March 2026, with questioning Reny Maharani, the head of the 2021 Selection Working Group, and Hendri Y. Rahman, secretary of the 2021 Selection Working Group, as witnesses in the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of rubber processing facilities at the Ministry of Agriculture for the 2021-2023 budget year. ‘The witnesses attended. Investigators are examining the process of procuring formic acid in 2021,’ Budi told journalists in Jakarta on Friday.
Previously, on 29 November 2024, KPK announced it had begun investigating the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of rubber processing facilities at the Ministry of Agriculture for the 2021-2023 budget year. KPK explained that the alleged modus operandi in the case is price inflation.
On 2 December 2024, KPK said investigators had named a suspect in the rubber processing facilities case at the Ministry of Agriculture. Meanwhile, KPK is presently examining links between that case and an alleged money-laundering case by the suspect who is also the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). On 21 October 2025, KPK announced that a civil servant named Yudi Wahyudi (YW) had become a suspect in the case.
