KPK probes financial management and procurement at Bengkulu City PUPR Office
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating financial management and the procurement of goods and services within the Bengkulu City Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the anti-corruption agency examined Beti Emilia (BE), a staff member in the secretariat division who also serves as treasurer of the Bengkulu City PUPR Office, and Agus Suhendra Wijaya (ASW), head of the water resources division at the same office, as witnesses on 24 August 2026.
“The examination of BE, in her capacity as PUPR Office treasurer, concerned her knowledge of financial management within the Bengkulu City PUPR Office,” Budi said.
Budi said the KPK also examined Beti to confirm the origin of a sum of money found at the home of Bengkulu City PUPR Office head Noprisman during a search some time ago.
“As for witness ASW, investigators sought his account of the results of the search at his home. In addition, the witness was also questioned by investigators regarding the procurement of goods and services within the Bengkulu City PUPR Office,” he said.
The case is an extension of a KPK sting operation related to alleged project bribery within the Rejang Lebong Regency administration in Bengkulu.
The KPK named five suspects on 11 March 2026, including Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari.
The KPK then announced the expansion of the investigation on 20 July 2026, although it had not yet named new suspects.
On 26 July 2026, the KPK searched several locations in Bengkulu City, including the office and home of a private party involved in medical devices and waste management, as well as the home of Bengkulu City PUPR Office head Noprisman.
During the search, the KPK seized evidence in the form of Rp4 billion in cash at Noprisman’s residence.
The KPK stated that the search was related to an investigation into alleged corruption involving state officials or public officers within the Bengkulu City administration.
