The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the relationship between BPK member Bobby Rizaldi and suspect Angga in a bribery case implicating former Muara Enim Regent Edison. The KPK stated that both individuals communicated with the Muara Enim regional government to condition the BPK audit results. “This is certainly one of the entry points for the KPK to investigate further. Why did AG, despite being a private party, allegedly have access and the power to arrange and consolidate internal BPK parties in conducting the audit of the Muara Enim Regional Government? Therefore, witness testimonies are needed by investigators to explain these matters,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK’s Red and White Building in South Jakarta on Wednesday (15/7/2026). Budi explained that initially, the BPK issued a Qualified Opinion (WDP) for the Muara Enim Regional Government. This opinion was then allegedly changed to an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) through internal manipulation. “So, in the Muara Enim Regional Government, the opinion initially was WDP, Qualified. Then, there were alleged findings that were set up, some of which were suspected to have been altered by the audit team, subsequently changing it to WTP, Unqualified,” Budi clarified. He added that investigators are examining the audit mechanism that led to the final opinion. The investigation is ongoing, and additional witnesses are still required to provide testimony and supplementary evidence. Previously, the KPK searched Bobby’s residence and seized several electronic items. “It is true, today investigators conducted a search at the residence of BB, located in the Jakarta area. During this search, investigators seized several electronic evidence items,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Tuesday (14/7). Budi stated that the electronic evidence would be extracted to deepen the investigation. The search was related to the bribery case involving former Muara Enim Regent Edison. The KPK previously arrested Edison in a sting operation on Monday (8/6). The KPK named Edison a suspect along with three others. The anti-graft body alleged that Edison received a bribe of Rp 500 million from Cory Erin Hardi. The bribe was allegedly received through Abi Nurwardani. The bribe was suspected to be a gratuity to maintain ‘good relations’ because PT MSA, a smart board supplier, had secured a procurement project from the Muara Enim Regional Government in 2025. On Wednesday (10/6), the KPK also arrested five individuals, including BPK civil servants, in a follow-up operation. The KPK named five suspects in this second case, alleging that the former Muara Enim Regent bribed BPK officials to alter audit findings. The KPK alleged that the BPK officials demanded Rp 1.6 billion to change the audit results.
