KPK Probes Cigarette Entrepreneur Haji Her on Excise Management Procedures

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is conducting an investigation into an alleged corruption case related to the importation of goods within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that KPK investigators examined a cigarette entrepreneur, Khairul Umam alias Haji Her, as a witness in the case on Thursday (9/4/2026).

“Today, there is one witness named Mr KU or commonly known as Mr HR,” said Budi Prasetyo, when met during the examination on Thursday.

He added that the examination material is still being explored by the investigators, and further developments will be communicated to the public.

“The substance of the examination material will be updated later,” he said.

Budi revealed that Haji Her had previously been scheduled for examination last week but was unable to attend the investigators’ summons at that time.

“Last week, the investigators had already issued a summons, but he was unable to attend. Today, the individual is willing to appear,” he said.

“With a cooperative attitude, the witnesses attending the summons and providing honest and complete statements to the investigators will essentially help the investigation process in this case,” said Budi.
