KPK Probes Budget Cuts During Examination of Hulu Sungai Utara Prosecutor

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is delving into the budget cuts carried out by Albertinus Parlinggoman Napitupulu during his tenure as Head of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigation was conducted by the KPK during the examination of Aganta Haris Saputra, a prosecutor at the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office in South Kalimantan.

“Investigators are delving into the witness’s statements to complete the investigation file regarding the budget cuts carried out by the suspect within the internal affairs of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday.

Furthermore, Budi stated that during the examination on Wednesday (8/4), the KPK probed Aganta Haris regarding the receipts received by Albertinus Napitupulu.

Meanwhile, he noted that two other witnesses had not complied with the KPK’s summons and would be rescheduled.

They are Henrikus Ion Sidabutar, Staff in the Civil and Administrative Affairs Section of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office, and Anggun Devianty, Assistant Expenditure Treasurer of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office.

Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) in Hulu Sungai Utara Regency, South Kalimantan, on 18 December 2025.

On 19 December 2025, the KPK announced the arrest of six individuals in the operation, including Albertinus Parlinggoman Napitupulu, Head of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office, and Asis Budianto, Head of the Intelligence Section of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office.

On the same date, the KPK announced the seizure of hundreds of millions of rupiah in the case allegedly related to extortion.

Then, on 20 December 2025, the KPK named Albertinus Parlinggoman Napitupulu (APN), Asis Budianto (ASB), and Tri Taruna Fariadi (TAR), Head of the Civil and Administrative Affairs Section of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office, as suspects in the alleged extortion case in the law enforcement process at the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

However, on that date, only Albertinus Napitupulu and Asis Budianto were detained by the KPK because Tri Taruna was still at large.

On 22 December 2025, the Attorney General’s Office handed over Tri Taruna to the KPK. The anti-corruption agency then detained him for the first 20 days.

On 24 December 2025, the KPK announced the seizure of one four-wheeled vehicle belonging to the Tolitoli Regency Government after searching three houses of Albertinus Napitupulu.
