The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating an alleged request from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) to inactive Muara Enim Regent Edison to arrange a change in the audit opinion on the financial reports of the Muara Enim Regency Government, South Sumatra.

“Investigators are looking into communications made by BPK officials asking the regent to handle the replacement or change of the opinion, namely from qualified (WDP) to unqualified (WTP),” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Budi added that investigators are also examining the change in opinion from WDP to WTP, which is then alleged to have reverted to WDP.

“Investigators are also looking into the change of opinion from WDP to WTP, which is then alleged to have changed back to WDP, including the process and mechanism involved,” he said.

The investigation was carried out by the KPK by examining a number of witnesses on Tuesday (18/8).

The witnesses included Muara Enim Regency Inspector Fera Sari, Acting Regional Secretary of Muara Enim Emran Tabrani, Head of the Muara Enim Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) Tarmizi Ismail, and Head of the Budget Division of the Muara Enim Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency Ratna Pinarti.

Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) on 7–8 June 2026 and detained a number of parties, including Muara Enim Regent Edison.

On 9 June 2026, the KPK named four suspects in a case of alleged bribery related to the procurement of goods and services and other receipts within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.

The four suspects were Edison, Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office Abi Nurwardani, marketing employee of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Cory Erin Hardi, and Adi Triyadi, who is Edison’s nephew.

The KPK then conducted a follow-up sting operation on 10 June 2026 and detained a civil servant from BPK RI. The operation became the KPK’s 13th sting operation throughout 2026.

On 11 June 2026, the KPK named five suspects in a case of alleged bribery to condition the results of the BPK audit of the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025 fiscal year.

The five suspects were Edison, Cory Erin Hardi, Director of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Fika Nur Alawi, private party Augusz Dewanggara, and BPK RI civil servant Titin Rita Lestari.

Augusz is alleged to have been an expert staff member of BPK RI Member V Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi, while Titin previously served as Head of the BPK Audit Team for the South Sumatra Representative Office.

On 13–14 July 2026, the KPK searched Bobby’s house and seized a number of electronic evidence items. Bobby was then examined as a witness by the KPK on 16 July 2026.
