KPK Prepares to Summon Two Suspects in BI and OJK CSR Corruption Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled summonses for two members of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) who have been named suspects in a case involving alleged corruption in the distribution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds from Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The suspects, Heri Gunawan (HG) and Satori (S), are currently serving as DPR members for the 2024-2029 term. Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, stated that investigators are preparing further steps in the case handling, including summoning the suspects. ‘We have communicated with the investigators. For Mr HG and S, we are likely to summon them shortly and take coercive measures,’ Asep said at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday, 1 June 2026. KPK Investigates CSR Fund Usage During the investigation, the KPK is not only examining the mechanism of CSR fund distribution but also delving into how the funds were used after receipt. Asep said investigators are currently gathering and confirming statements regarding the flow and utilization of the social program funds. ‘This involves not just the distribution of CSR funds but also how they were used—whether they were indeed allocated appropriately,’ he said. The KPK stressed that the investigation is thorough to ensure all CSR funds are accounted for in line with applicable regulations. KPK Confirms No Political Pressure Asep also confirmed that the handling of the suspected corruption case involving BI and OJK CSR funds is not influenced by political pressure. He stated that the suspects have not been detained due to technical investigative reasons, as investigators are still examining the fund usage in detail. ‘There is no political pressure involved. This is purely a technical matter in our investigation, as we need to confirm exactly how every rupiah of the CSR funds was used,’ he explained. The KPK stated that this detailed examination is crucial to ensure all aspects of the case can be comprehensively proven in legal proceedings.
