KPK: Police Chief of Cilacap to Receive Eid Allowance from Regent

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed that the Police Chief of Cilacap (Kapolresta), Kombes Pol Budi Adhy Buono, is one of the members of the regional leadership coordination forum (forkopimda) who would receive Eid holiday allowances (THR) from Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman.

“One of the forkopimda members is the Police Chief there in Cilacap,” stated KPK Deputy for Prosecution and Execution, Asep Guntur Rahayu, at the KPK Red and White Building in Jakarta on Saturday evening, 14 March.

Consequently, Asep stated that the KPK decided to examine 27 individuals arrested in the sting operation in Banyumas Regency, Central Java.

“That is why we did not conduct examinations at Cilacap Police Station to avoid conflicts of interest. We moved the investigation to Banyumas instead,” he explained.

Previously, on 13 March 2026, the KPK announced its ninth sting operation of the year and the third during Ramadhan. The operation arrested Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman and 26 others, whilst seizing cash in the form of Indonesian rupiah.

On 14 March 2026, the KPK named Syamsul Auliya Rachman and Cilacap Regional Secretary Sadmoko Danardoo as suspects in an alleged extortion and unlawful enrichment case within the Cilacap Regency Government in Central Java during the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

Syamsul Auliya had targeted obtaining IDR750 million from the alleged extortion scheme, to be divided into IDR515 million for Eid holiday allowances for the regional leadership coordination forum (Forkopimda) of Cilacap Regency, with the remainder for personal purposes. However, he had only managed to secure IDR610 million before being arrested by the KPK.
