KPK: Pemalang Regent Case Consists of Two Clusters
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that the alleged corruption case implicating Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro and three other suspects consists of two clusters.
“Last night an exposure (case review, ed.) was conducted, and it was decided that this case would be elevated to the investigation stage for two clusters of cases,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in Jakarta on Thursday.
Budi explained that the first cluster relates to alleged extortion committed by Anom Widiyantoro against officials of the Pemalang District Government as well as private parties.
Nevertheless, he said the KPK could not yet provide further details regarding the roles of the suspects in the two clusters.
“We will convey the details at a press conference later,” he said.
Previously, on 29 July 2026, the KPK confirmed it had carried out its 18th sting operation (OTT) conducted during 2026.
The KPK then brought 12 of the 21 individuals to Jakarta for further questioning. They comprised five people arrested in Jakarta, six from Pemalang, and one from Purworejo.
In addition, the KPK seized Rp2 billion in cash as evidence and sealed a number of locations.
