KPK: Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq Case Shows Corruption Modus Operandi Becoming More Complex

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has described the case involving Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq as tangible proof that corruption modus operandi in Indonesia is evolving and metamorphosing into greater complexity. The case marks a new record for the anti-graft agency. For the first time, KPK invoked Article 12(i) of the Law on the Corruption Eradication (UU Tipikor) concerning conflicts of interest as the sole charged provision in an Operation Tangkap Tangan (OTT), without additional articles.
