KPK Opens Possibility of Summoning Perry Warjiyo in BI-OJK CSR Corruption Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has opened the possibility of summoning former Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo as a witness in the investigation into alleged corruption involving the distribution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds from BI and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). This step will be taken if Perry’s testimony is deemed crucial for the investigation.
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the summoning of witnesses is based on the investigators’ need to thoroughly uncover the case. He emphasised that a person’s retired status does not automatically preclude them from being summoned. “The summoning of witnesses is certainly based on the investigators’ need to obtain information from what they know. It is not simply because someone has retired from their position that they are then summoned,” Budi stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.
This case focuses on the alleged corruption in the distribution of Bank Indonesia’s Social Programme (PSBI) and the Financial Services Authority’s Care Programme (PJK) funds for the 2020-2023 period. The investigation commenced in December 2024 following a report from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) and public complaints.
During the course of the investigation, the KPK named two suspects on 7 August 2025: members of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Satori and Heri Gunawan. Both are legislators from the 2019-2024 period who were re-elected for the 2024-2029 term. Investigators had previously conducted searches at the Bank Indonesia Building on 16 December 2024 and the OJK Office on 19 December 2024. The KPK is committed to investigating the involvement of all parties to improve the governance of these financial institutions in the future.
Perry Warjiyo was recently declared to have stepped down from his position as BI Governor by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi on 27 July 2026. The KPK continues to monitor the progress of the investigation before deciding on a schedule for summoning new witnesses.
