KPK Opens Possibility of Summoning OSO over Private Jet Use by Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin
Jakarta, VIVA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has opened the possibility of summoning Hanura Party chairman Oesman Sapta Odang (OSO) regarding the alleged gratification involving the provision of a private jet to Religious Affairs Minister (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar.
“During the analysis, it is possible to request additional information or statements from certain parties,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters on Monday, 23 February 2026.
The KPK is currently verifying the completeness of Minister Nasaruddin’s report concerning the alleged gratification in the form of travel facilities aboard OSO’s private jet.
“From the report, the team will check the completeness of the filing, and then conduct an analysis to determine the status of the provision of said facilities,” he said.
Previously, on 16 February 2026, posts circulated widely on social media platform X regarding the Religious Affairs Minister’s use of a private jet.
On the same date, the Head of Public Relations and Communication at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Thobib Al Asyhar, explained that the minister had used a private jet when visiting Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi, on 15 February 2026.
Furthermore, Thobib explained that the private jet belonged to national figure Oesman Sapta Odang, who had lent it to the minister on grounds of time efficiency.
“Mr OSO specifically invited and hoped that the Sarkiah Hall would be inaugurated by the minister. Mr OSO also took the initiative to prepare a private jet for the minister so that he could attend amid his packed schedule,” Thobib said in an official statement on the Ministry of Religious Affairs website on Monday.
On 18 February 2026, KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto expressed hope that the minister would report the alleged gratification without having to be summoned by the anti-corruption body.
On 23 February 2026, the minister visited the KPK to report the alleged gratification.
