KPK opens possibility of summoning Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has opened the possibility of summoning Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto in its investigation into alleged corruption within the Bogor Regency administration, West Java.

“Regarding witness summons, we fully leave that to the investigators,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Monday.

Budi made the statement when asked about the possibility of investigators summoning Rudy in the case currently being handled by the KPK.

Budi explained that investigators have the authority to summon witnesses deemed to possess knowledge that can clarify the construction of the case.

According to him, witness examination is necessary so that investigators can see the full construction of the case while also probing the roles of the parties involved.

“Besides the complete construction, the role of each party will be captured during this investigation stage,” he said.

The KPK is currently investigating allegations of money received by state officials within the Bogor Regency administration, allegedly sourced from deductions of employee incentives at the Bogor Regency Regional Revenue Management Agency (Bappenda).

In this case, the KPK has secured approximately Rp1.5 billion allegedly derived from incentive deductions that should have been the entitlement of Bappenda employees.

The investigation into the case has been elevated to the formal investigation stage through the issuance of a general investigation warrant (sprindik).

The KPK has not yet named any party as a suspect.

In addition to this case, the KPK is also investigating alleged corruption related to the procurement of goods and services at the Bogor Regency Education Office.

On Thursday (27/8), the KPK searched the offices of Bappenda and the Bogor Regency Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM). A day later, the KPK searched the Bogor Regency Education Office.
