KPK Opens Lebaran Services for Detainees, Including Family Meeting Time

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is opening special services for detainees to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. The detainees are scheduled to perform Eid prayers in congregation from 06:30 to 08:00 WIB at the Red and White Building Mosque of the KPK. The KPK is also providing an opportunity for detainees to meet directly with family and relatives from 10:00 to 13:00 WIB. He added that family visits are expected to provide moral support for the detainees. “The presence of family is expected to provide moral and emotional support, while strengthening religious values that are an important part of the detainees’ self-reflection process,” Budi further stated. According to Budi, all services will proceed in an orderly manner while prioritising security aspects and applicable regulations. Based on KPK data, there are currently 81 detainees in the KPK Detention Centre spread across two locations: 41 people at the Red and White Building (K4) and 40 at Building C1. Of this number, 67 are Muslim.
