KPK on the detention of Satori and Heri Gunawan: Not long now

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that the detention of two members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), who are also suspects in the alleged corruption case concerning the distribution of corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSR) funds from Bank Indonesia and the Financial Services Authority, Satori and Heri Gunawan, will be carried out shortly.

“Wait and see. It won’t be long,” said KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday (30/3).

Meanwhile, Asep acknowledged that the numerous recent hand-catching operations (OTT) conducted by the KPK have led to changes in strategy for handling the CSR BI and OJK case.

“We have also been handling several cases lately, with quite a few OTTs, so naturally those OTT cases must receive more attention because we immediately carry out detentions and so on, with time limits,” he explained.

Therefore, he said that the high number of OTTs has prompted the KPK to rearrange timelines and human resources, particularly in resolving the detention of the two suspects in the CSR BI and OJK case.

Currently, the KPK is still investigating the alleged corruption in the distribution of corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSR) programme funds or the alleged corruption in the use of Bank Indonesia Social Programme (PSBI) funds and Financial Services Extension Officers (PJK) from 2020 to 2023.

The case originated from reports of analysis results from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) and public complaints, after which the KPK began a general investigation in December 2024.

KPK investigators have searched several locations suspected of holding evidence related to the case.

Some of those locations include the Bank Indonesia Building on Jalan Thamrin, Central Jakarta, which was searched on 16 December 2024, and the Financial Services Authority office, which was searched on 19 December 2024.

On 7 August 2025, the anti-corruption agency designated Satori (ST), a member of Commission XI of the DPR RI for the 2019-2024 period, and Heri Gunawan (HG) as suspects in the case. Both are currently members of the DPR RI for the 2024-2029 period.
