KPK Officials Visit Bareskrim to Discuss Several Corruption Cases with Police
A number of officials from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) visited the Bareskrim Polri building in Jakarta on Thursday, 2 April 2026. The meeting was held to discuss the handling of several ongoing suspected corruption cases. The KPK delegation was led by Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu, along with Director of Investigations Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto. They met with the Head of Coordination and Supervision of Corruption Crimes (Kakortas Tipidkor) of the National Police, Inspector General of Police Totok Suharyanto. Asep explained that the meeting was part of efforts to coordinate among law enforcement agencies in handling corruption cases. “That is certainly coordination related to case handling. Why? Because corruption crimes cannot be handled by just one institution alone,” Asep told reporters. He emphasised that synergy between the KPK, National Police, and the Attorney General’s Office is key to eradicating corruption in Indonesia. However, Asep did not detail which cases were discussed in the meeting. “Of course, we from the KPK, National Police, Attorney General’s Office, and supported by other stakeholders, together handle corruption crimes. So, this is in the framework of coordination and communication,” he said. “There are several cases that we are communicating about, but because this is still in the early stage, we cannot disclose it now,” he added. Inspector General Totok Suharyanto conveyed a similar sentiment. He stated that the meeting aimed to strengthen coordination and synergy among institutions in handling corruption cases. “(The meeting) is to enhance coordination and synergy of Kortas with the KPK regarding several case handlings,” Totok said.
