KPK Officially Issues SP3 for Siman Bahar

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has officially issued a Letter of Termination of Investigation (SP3) for the alleged corruption case involving metal anode processing cooperation with suspect Siman Bahar alias Bong Kin Phin. “On 23 April 2026, the KPK issued the Letter of Termination of Investigation (SP3) for suspect SB [Siman Bahar],” stated KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Saturday (25/4). The SP3 was issued after investigators received an official death certificate confirming that Siman Bahar, as the President Director of PT Loco Montrado, had passed away. Budi said the SP3 has been delivered by the KPK to the family. The KPK re-designated Siman Bahar as a suspect on Monday, 5 June 2023. In the initial suspect designation, Siman Bahar had prevailed against the KPK through pre-trial proceedings. During the investigation process, Siman Bahar was not detained due to health reasons, as he was suffering from a serious illness. Nevertheless, to recover state losses in this case, the KPK has designated Siman Bahar’s company as a corporate suspect. “The investigators have seized more than Rp100 billion as part of asset recovery efforts,” he said. The anti-corruption agency seized cash amounting to Rp100.7 billion related to the investigation of the alleged corruption case in the metal anode processing cooperation with suspect and President Director of PT Loco Montrado, Siman Bahar, in August 2025. The funds from Siman Bahar’s side were seized because they are suspected to be related to the case in question.
