The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has officially detained three of the four suspects in the alleged corruption case regarding the construction of the Lamongan Regency Government building in East Java for the 2017 to 2019 fiscal years. The detention was carried out after KPK investigators determined that the evidence in the case was sufficient.

Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, stated that the three detained suspects include officials ranging from the commitment-making officer to private parties involved in the building project.

“The individuals we have detained today are SKM, the commitment-making officer at the Lamongan Department of Public Housing, Residential Areas, and Human Settlements; ABD, the Director of PT Agung Pradana Putra; and HDH, the Regional Division III General Manager for the 2015-2019 period,” Taufik said at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.

The KPK stated that the three suspects will undergo an initial detention period of 20 days, effective from 2 June to 21 June 2026, at the KPK Red and White Building Detention Centre in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, one other suspect, identified by the initials MYM, has not yet been detained as they failed to respond to the KPK’s summons on the same day. MYM is known to be a member of the Project Management Committee for the Lamongan Regency Office building construction for the 2017-2019 fiscal year and is also the Director of CV Absolute. The KPK has confirmed that they will take enforcement measures to detain MYM at the next available opportunity.

In this case, the four suspects are facing charges under corruption criminal laws, specifically violations of Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 of Law Number 30 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the old Criminal Code. The KPK suspects the suspects were involved in corrupt practices during the construction project, leading to significant state losses. The investigation into the alleged corruption of the Lamongan Regency Office building has been underway by the KPK since September 2023.
