The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it had received no information about a meeting between Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq and Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi at the time of the sting operation (OTT).

‘While we were at the command post, there was no information of that kind. This is what we are reporting. But I am not sure what her mother was like,’ said Asep Guntur Rahayu, Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, at the Merah Putih Building on Wednesday (4 March).

Asep said that investigators on the ground as well as those at the command post did not receive information about the meeting.

‘There is direct communication at the command post between the on-the-ground team and those at the post. There is no information like that,’ Asep added.

Moreover, Asep confirmed that the sting operation occurred in Semarang. He also revealed that investigators almost lost track of Fadia until she was located in the early hours.

‘If in Semarang it is true, because after Pekalongan the team moved to Semarang, and they almost lost the person. But it was found in the middle of the night, and then secured,’ Asep said.

Earlier, Fadia said she was with Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi when the operation took place.

‘In short, I was not involved in an OTT; I did not have anything taken, and during the raids on my house, I was with the Central Java Governor; there was no OTT, nor anything taken, by God,’ Fadia told reporters on Wednesday (4 March).

Fadia said she met the Governor of Central Java to seek permission not to attend an event related to the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG).

‘We discussed permission; tomorrow I cannot attend the MBG event,’ she said.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Luthfi denied Fadia’s statements in Jakarta. Luthfi did not confirm whether he was with Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq at the time of the KPK sting operation.

‘No. Where did you get that information?’ Luthfi said when contacted on Wednesday afternoon, as quoted by Antara.

The retired three-star Polri general said he knew nothing about Fadia’s statements delivered at the KPK Building.

‘Wherever she was arrested, we did not know either,’ he said, the former Jateng Police chief.
