KPK Names West Lombok Regent a Suspect in IDR 9 Billion Corruption Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named three suspects in a case of alleged corruption related to conflicts of interest in the procurement of goods and services, bribery, and other receipts or gratuities within the West Lombok Regency Government. They are West Lombok Regent for the 2025-2030 period, Lalu Ahmad Zaini; President Director of PT Air Minum Giri Menang, Sudirman; and President Director of PT Meconel Sistim Instrument, Alvonsus Gani. The suspects were still undergoing questioning as the press conference took place. They will be detained for the first 20 days. “Based on valid preliminary evidence, the KPK has elevated this case to the investigation stage and named three individuals as suspects,” said Acting Director of KPK Investigations, Achmad Taufik Husein, during a press conference at the Merah Putih Building in Jakarta, Tuesday (21/7). The case was uncovered by the KPK through a sting operation conducted in West Lombok Regency on Monday (20/7). The KPK arrested a total of 19 people. Of that number, seven were taken to Jakarta for further examination. Meanwhile, on Monday (21/7), the KPK arrested one more person in Jakarta. During the covert operation, the KPK also discovered and secured evidence worth approximately IDR 9.06 billion. The details include cash from the disbursement of an account belonging to Sudirman worth IDR 1.25 billion; cash at the home of Junaidi (Treasurer of CV Dyas Karya Konstruksi or CV DKK) worth IDR 20 million. Also, funds in the CV DKK company account worth IDR 489 million; land certificates and deeds of sale belonging to Lalu Ahmad worth IDR 2.75 billion; one Toyota Alphard worth IDR 1.225 billion; and a receipt for the purchase of land belonging to Lalu Ahmad’s wife worth IDR 3.325 billion.
