KPK names Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq as the sole suspect
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq (FAR) as the sole suspect in a case of suspected corruption related to outsourcing services procurement or labour outsourcing, and other procurements within Pekalongan Regency for the 2023-2026 fiscal years. ‘KPK has elevated the case to the investigation stage by naming one suspect, namely FAR as the Pekalongan Regent for the 2025-2030 period,’ said Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday. Asep said the KPK named Fadia Arafiq as a suspect on the basis of sufficient evidence. ‘The KPK will subsequently detain FAR for the first 20 days from 4-23 March 2026. Detention will be conducted at the State Detention Centre branch of the Merah Putih building KPK,’ he said. Meanwhile, he said Fadia Arafiq is charged with violating Article 12 letter i and Article 12B of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 127(1) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP). Earlier, on 3 March 2026, the KPK announced it had conducted a Ramadan-time sting operation, the seventh OTT this year. The KPK said it arrested Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq together with her aides and trusted associates in the Semarang region, Central Java. The KPK then announced the arrest of 11 other people from Pekalongan, Central Java. Meanwhile, the KPK said the OTT that arrested Fadia Arafiq related to outsourcing or labour outsourcing procurement in several departments within Pekalongan Regency.
