The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named the Regent of Muara Enim, Edison, as a suspect in an alleged bribery case involving various procurements and the receipt of gratifications. The case was uncovered by the KPK through a sting operation (OTT) carried out on 7-8 June 2026 in Jakarta and South Sumatra.

“It is true that one of them is a regent,” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday (9/6). The KPK arrested a total of 10 individuals during the undercover operation.

In addition to Edison, the KPK has named three others as suspects, comprising both state officials and private sector representatives. “Of the four parties designated as suspects, there are representatives from the state apparatus and the private sector,” said Budi.

The other three suspects are the 2026 Secretary of the Department of Education and Culture, Abi Nurwardani; a private individual and nephew of the regent, Adi Triadi; and a representative from PT Millenium Solusi Abadi, Cory Erin Hardi.

During the recent sting operation, the KPK also seized evidence allegedly related to the case, including cash amounting to Rp2 billion. “The team also secured evidence, including cash in the form of Rupiah, Dollars, and Riyals, as well as various bank account balances, as several of these accounts were used as repositories for alleged receipts by individuals within the Muara Enim Regency Government from private parties,” Budi explained. He added that the total value was almost Rp2 billion.

The anti-corruption agency will hold a press conference on Tuesday (9/6) afternoon to present the chronology of the sting operation and the full construction of the case.
