KPK Names Eight Suspects in Summarecon Land Title Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named eight suspects in a suspected corruption case uncovered through a sting operation (OTT) at the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).

The suspects were named after investigators found two sufficient pieces of preliminary evidence, including through intensive questioning since the sting operation on Monday (15/9).

The suspects are the Head of the Bogor Regency I Land Office, Sontang Coin Manurung; Golkar politician Fahd El Fouz, also known as Fahd A Rafiq; former Regent of Kebumen Arif Sugiyanto; and the President Director of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk, Adrianto Pitojo Adhi.

The other four suspects are the Director General of Land and Spatial Control at the ATR/BPN Ministry, Lampri, as well as Muhammad Fakhry, Erwin, and Rizal Pahlefi.

As observed by CNNIndonesia.com at the KPK’s Red and White Building in South Jakarta, the suspects were already wearing the orange vests typical of KPK detainees, with their hands in handcuffs.

They remained silent when peppered with questions by journalists and were escorted straight into detention vehicles to be taken to the KPK state detention house (Rutan).

The KPK will present the chronology of the sting operation along with the full construction of the case at a press conference this evening.

The sting operation relates to the processing of building use rights (HGB) in Bogor Regency, as well as other suspected payments.

During this closed investigation, the KPK enforcement team also secured items of evidence, including cash in rupiah and foreign currencies that had been wrapped, packed in boxes, cardboard, and some 20 or so suitcases.
