Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has announced that Ahmad Dedi, also known as Dedi Congor (AD), a senior functional customs and excise official at the Finance Ministry’s Directorate General of Customs and Excise, has been named a suspect in an alleged corruption case within the agency.

“AD, an employee of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, was named a suspect in September 2026,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Friday.

Budi said the KPK had now named nine people as suspects in the case.

“In the case, which began with a sting operation, the KPK has named nine suspects,” he said.

He explained that Ahmad Dedi’s designation as a suspect was based on a separate investigation warrant from the development of the case announced on 28 October 2026.

The case began when the KPK conducted a sting operation within the Customs and Excise Directorate in February 2026 and named several people as suspects.

On 21 July 2026, the KPK announced the expansion of the investigation through the issuance of two investigation warrants. One warrant resulted in the naming of a suspect, while the other was a general warrant under which no suspect had yet been named.

As of 26 August 2026, the following people had been named as suspects and detained in the case:

  1. Rizal, head of the West Sumatra Customs regional office;

  2. Sisprian Subiaksono, head of the Customs Intelligence Sub-Directorate;

  3. Orlando Hamonangan, head of Customs Enforcement Section II;

  4. John Field, owner of Blueray Cargo;

  5. Dedy Kurniawan, Blueray Cargo’s operations manager;

  6. Andri, head of Blueray Cargo’s Import Documentation Team;

  7. Budiman Bayu Prasojo, head of the Customs Intelligence Section; and

  8. Gatot Heroe Hernanda, head of the Kediri Customs Office.

On 28 October 2026, the KPK announced a further development in the case through the issuance of a general investigation warrant.

The KPK subsequently searched the Kudus Type Madya Excise Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC) and PT Djarum.

The searches were reportedly related to alleged arrangements by PT Djarum with customs officials concerning cigarette excise.
