KPK Names 2 Suspects in Cilacap Regent Sting Operation
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has designated two individuals as suspects in a sting operation (OTT) involving Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman relating to allegations of receiving fees from development projects in Cilacap District, Central Java, on Friday, 15 March.
However, KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo has not yet disclosed the identities of those designated as suspects.
“What is certain in today’s briefing is that two individuals have been designated as suspects,” Budi stated at KPK’s Red and White Building on Saturday, 14 March.
This figure represents only a portion of the 13 individuals brought to Jakarta following the sting operation for 24-hour questioning. However, Budi noted that the remaining 11 individuals were continuing their interrogation.
Prior to being brought to Jakarta, a total of 27 individuals had been secured during the sting operation in Cilacap District.
“Questioning is still ongoing. All of these individuals are still undergoing interrogation,” Budi said.
Budi added that the operation resulted in the seizure of several hundred million rupiah in cash as evidence. In addition to cash, other evidence secured included documents and electronic devices.
“The amount of cash seized in this sting operation totalled several hundred million rupiah,” he stated.
